Steve gets credit for his several "saves" in the restoration of my 1977 MGB. Both Steve and Hank are masters at American and Import auto issues, however finding someone that is equally well versed in a Brit car that was last produced in 1980 is rare and getting more so.The one all important trait that distinguishes OHA is trust. The minute we first walked in their door we knew that we had found two gents, as well as their guys out in the shop, that were totally reliable, totally trustworthy. They've never disappointed us in any way. Add to that, Hank and Steve are superb communicators. They are excellent at providing detailed descriptions of the problem, then they provide updates as needed, and finally, take the time to thoroughly describe the repairs that were done and the parts that were needed. Kudos from start to finish.

Thank you for the confidence and trust you place in our staff.

Save yourself and run! Steve and Hank can talk shop with the best of them and our experience is exactly the reason so many mechanics are perceived as untrustworthy. They will present themselves as the opposite - they will seem knowledgeable and convincing. Don't fall for it. We wasted nearly $2,000 learning this lesson, so please do yourself a favor and steer clear. Here's our story: We recently took my wife's BMW to Oak Hill Automotive to have a window regulator fixed. When I dropped it off I mentioned there was a smell (possibly exhaust fumes) coming into the cabin of the car, and asked if they could diagnose that issue as well. After a day or two, I received a call from Steve so we can discuss their diagnosis of the car. As other reviewers have stated, Steve gave me a list of repairs needed on the vehicle, most of which were "must repair" items. My first thought was wow, I didn't ask for them to look at all this stuff, maybe these guys are just being thorough. Nope - upselling at it's best. I'm told the smell I mentioned coming in the cabin of the car was being caused by an oil leak on the left side of the engine. A gasket needed to be replaced and that item alone would cost over $500. I asked a ton of questions and Steve answered all of them confidently. I felt they were shooting me straight. A few days go by and our car is ready, window is working again, so we thought the other issues were resolved as well. The very next day, we go to drive the car now that the poisonous fumes are gone (we thought), and when we started it up the Check Engine light came on. We took it straight back to Oak Hill Automotive and we're told a vent hose needed to be replaced. $25 for the part, $161 for labor and diagnostic scan (hooking it up to their computer). Ouch, this is overpriced and should've come up before, but let's just get this done and over with. A few more days go by, and my wife complains about the same smell again in the cabin of the car. I call and talk to Steve, and I'm told that the smell is just old oil on the exhaust manifold and that it'll burn off after driving it a little more. Ok, sure, I'll see if that works. After we drive the car for a few more weeks, the smell is still there and just as strong as it was to begin with! I returned to Oak Hill Automotive to have them check things out again. Wouldn't you know it, there's a new issue - an oil leak on the other side of the engine now. And since it's something new, they want to charge me as if it's a separate repair. Wrong - you never fixed the issue from the start. Steve tried to place the blame on the car getting old and that I drove it over 1k miles since it was there last. I reminded him that THEY TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT before bringing it back in and that the issue was never resolved from the get-go. I asked that if the problem wasn't resolved from the beginning, why wasn't this "2nd leak" discovered initially? Steve's response was "we can't find EVERY oil leak". Really?!? That's your job and I just paid you a ton of money to do exactly that. Completely deplorable experience and now I'm stuck needing to fix a significant problem all over again. Unacceptable.
